Federal Council of the Isolated Children's Parents' Association is the over arching governing body of the organisation. Each State with the exception of Victoria, has its own state based council to deal with local state issues. Each State has member branches which as well as belonging to the state organisation also belong to the national association, ICPA Australia.

What Role Do the Different Councils Play Within ICPA?

THE FEDERAL COUNCIL is the properly constituted body elected from Branches within Australia, to have general control and management of the administration, affairs, property and funds of "The Isolated Children's Parents' Association of Australia (Inc)" - ICPA (Aust). The Federal Council comprises of at least one representative from each State or Territory which has a State Council of the Association, provided that there is a nomination from that State or Territory. THE NORTHERN TERRITORY STATE COUNCIL Incorporated" is the properly constituted body elected from financial members within the Northern Territory to have general control and management of the administration, affairs, property and funds of the Northern Territory based association, ICPA NT. THE NEW SOUTH WALES STATE COUNCIL is an elected council of office bearers consisting of:- The President; 2(two) Vice Presidents; Secretary; Treasurer; Assistant Secretary; Publicity Officer; Lone Member Officer and 4(four) Committee Members; each of whom are elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Association. THE QUEENSLAND STATE COUNCIL is a committee elected from at least three (3) Branches within Queensland which has general control and management of the administration, affairs, property and funds of the Association, and which has general control of Branches within Queensland and, whose elected members form the Management Committee of ICPA Qld. THE SOUTH AUSTRALIA STATE COUNCIL is the properly constituted body elected from financial members within the state. The State Council has general control and management of the administration, affairs, property and funds of the State Association, ICPA SA and has general control of branches and Lone Members within the state.
