Federal Boarding Portfolio
For many rural and remote students, boarding for secondary education is a reality. Quite often this can be a long distance from the family network and sometimes even in another state. Federal Communication Portfolio
Communication is an essential component of the life of a rural and remote student. Many can only access their education provider via satellite technology which is not a comparable service to what is available in an urban setting. Federal Curriculum Portfolio
The curriculum is always under review and being changed and it is extremely important that these changes and the structure of the curriculum is suited to the education of rural and remote children, especially those that are completing their studies via distance education. Federal Early Childhood Portfolio
Early childhood education is extremely important as this is the period of great learning in a child's life. In an urban setting access to a quality early childhood education is a given, however in rural and remote settings the delivery of such a program has many hurdles. Federal Rural Schools and Travel Portfolio
In rural Australia many children can attend schools with a limited cohort and a limited subject availablity. Some rural schools in the more remote areas consist of multi level classroom with only one teacher teaching students from Transistion to Grade 6. Federal Specific Education Needs Portfolio
Children with specific education needs, whether that is an education disability or a gifted child, need specific eduction suited to their needs. ICPA endeavours to ensure that these children are not disadvantage living in a rural and remote area. Federal Tertiary Portfolio
Only a small number of Tertiary students come from a rural or remote background. Why? Because the actual cost of getting to the front door from these areas is often quite cost prohibited.
