Federal Council’s “Branch Bulletin” Volume 8 Number 1 August 2010

ICPA has once again held a fantastic Federal Conference this time in the beautiful location of Fremantle, Western Australia. A huge thank you to Raelene Hall and her band of helpers who convened a wonderful conference. The ‘living’ centrepieces of fish lazily swimming in bowls were a real treat and unlike anything we’ve had before. Many motions were passed and Federal Council will work diligently over the next few months to address all of these.

Presentations
Roxanne Morrissey and Jack Beach paid tribute to the wonderful services of Marg Duncombe. Marg has stood down from her position as Federal Treasurer and will be sorely missed. She has become a bit of an icon over the past 9 years. Roxanne also thanked Carmel Elliot for her time as Web Manager. Carmel has always gone well beyond her duties as Web Manager and it is pleasing to know that she has offered to act as mentor to a new Web Manager. Council has had interest expressed from a member to take up the Web Manager position and will be formally dealing with this at our teleconference next month. We will advise the outcome in the next edition of BB.

New Federal Councillors
It gives us great pleasure to introduce and welcome Trish McKenzie and Sam Starcevich to Federal Council. Trish comes from Cunnamulla in Queensland and Sam is from Salmon Gums in Western Australia. We are very much looking forward to working with them over the coming months. There are some changes to the holders of positions on Council and portfolios have been allocated. The full list of Councillors, their positions and portfolios can be found on the ICPA website at www.icpa.com.au or in the back of your next edition of Pedals.

Federal Conference 2011
The next Federal Conference will be hosted by the Katherine branch on behalf of the NT State Council and will be held in Darwin on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th August 2011. Please mark these dates in your diary for future reference and watch this space for further information.

Treasurer’s Note - from the new one!
After 9 years Margaret Duncombe has stepped down from the position of Treasurer. Federal Council would like to thank Margaret for all the hard work she has done over the past years - she will be missed! Sue Shotton has stepped into her shoes and is now the ‘Treasurer-in-training’ so please be patient if she lacks the efficiency of Margaret until she finds her way. The email remains unchanged as FedTreasurer@icpa.com.auhowever the postal address has changed to Sue Shotton, Douglas Daly Research Farm, PMB 105 Winnellie NT 0822.
