New South Wales Government Allowances
AIC - The Assistance for Isolated Children (AIC) Scheme helps the families of primary, secondary, and certain tertiary students who cannot attend an appropriate state school on a daily basis because of geographical isolation.
In some specific circumstances, bypassing concessions can apply to students who do not meet the distance criteria but are 'deemed 'to be isolated (section 4.4 AIC Guidelines) or have special needs that cannot be met by their local school (section 4.3 AIC Guidelines). Guidelines
If you wish to claim the allowance based on one of the concessions, you will need to obtain a statement of support from the NSW Department of Education and Training in Bathurst.
BSIS - The Boarding Scholarships for Isolated Students scheme (BSIS) provides assistance to students in Years 7 to 12 from rural areas who are disadvantaged.
LAFHA - The NSW Secondary Schools Living Away from Home Allowance provides assistance to eligible families who must board their children away from home to obtain secondary education.
